Christmas Thumbprint Cookies


These cookies are the perfect edition to your Christmas Cookie Plate. They look so pretty and festive!




For The Cookies

Red and Green Sprinkles

1 cup butter softened

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tsp vanilla extract

2 1/2 cup flour


For the Icing

2 cups powdered sugar

2 tbsp light corn syrup

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

2-3 tbsp milk

Red and Green Food Coloring



Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper. Using a stand mixer, cream butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla together until creamy. Add flour until mixed through and a dough forms. Scoop into balls and roll into red and green sprinkles. Place on cookie sheet and using your thumb, press down into the cookie. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and using a small spoon or you thumb, press down into each cookie again. Let cool a few minutes then move to wire rack to continue cooling.



Combine ingredients for icing and mix in a small bowl. Separate into different bowls and add food coloring of choice. Spoon icing into cookies and allow to set. Store in container between sheets of parchment paper.
