Chocolate and peppermint is a must for Christmas! This recipe is easy for little ones to help with and looks festive on any cookie tray!
1 box Devil's Food Chocolate Cake Mix
1/2 cup room temperature butter
2 eggs
2/3 cup milk chocolate chips (divided)
1/2 cup crushed candy canes (plus more for topping)
1/2 tsp peppermint extract
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix together cake mix, butter, eggs, and peppermint extract until combined. Add 1/2 cup chocolate chips, and 1/4 cup crushed candy canes and mix to combine. Using a cookie scoop, roll into balls and place on cookie try. Top with extra chocolate chips and candy canes if desired. Bake 13-15 minutes until cookies puff up and are no longer glossy. Cool on baking sheet. Store in container.
